Big Little Books
Measuring about 4.5″ tall ‘Big Little Books’ began publication in Dec. 1932.
In response to the Great Depression, the small format was intended to provide readers with more reading material using less paper, ink, and glue. The first titles sold for just a dime. Most of the text was sourced from radio, television and comic books. During the Second World War years, Big Little Books primarily drew on the growing popularity of cartoons.
