November 2019 was a month of breaking records at Russell Books. With staff working to move thousands of books across the street into our new location, we were also moving thousands of books in another direction: upwards.
At the grand opening of our new home at 747 Fort Street, we broke the record for the tallest tower of Guinness World Records books. In an afternoon of excitement and anticipation, our staff created a stack of books that was 6 meters (19 feet, eight inches) tall and stood unsupported for 10 seconds.
A huge thank you to all those in our community and beyond who donated their copies of the Guinness World Records books, the friends, family and community members who attended the event, and Guinness World Records for helping us achieve this herculean feat!
