Fully bound in light cream coloured leather with blind stamped design on boards and spine; chipped black title box and 3 raised cords on spine; 32 mo. Slightly faded black ink on all three outer edges of the textblock. One of the two metal clasps is missing, the other is intact. Light moisture stain to bottom half of some pages through. This is a beautiful copy of a rare and sought after biography of José de Anchieta. Anchieta was a Jesuit missionary from Portugal who was an influential figure in the history of the colony of Brazil.
